Russian luxury brand Caviar has unveiled its new custom iPhone lineup comprising Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Yuri Gagarin and Neil Armstrong-themed limited editions of iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Max. The new phones have been unveiled to mark 60 years of the first space flight by Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin that took place on April 20, 1961. Caviar roped in Neil Armstrong, the first man on the Moon, tech billionaire Elon Musk and former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos too for its collection and has named the new custom iPhone 12 series the “Space Conquerors” series.
Whereas Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, is quite outspoken about making life on Earth multiplanetary and wants to start off by colonising Mars, Bezos’ Blue Origin is also working to put its own internet satellites in space.
Starting off with the first human in space, Yuri Gagarin, the iPhone 12 Pro (Max) Gagarin is composed of aviation-grade hardened titanium and composite stone. The back of the phone carries a fragment of the hull of the Vostok-1 spacecraft that carried Gagarin to space, a fragment that is in-built. A “Navigator” watch, the same model that the Russian cosmonaut used to wear, is integrated into the back of the iPhone. Only 12 units of this phone will be made. The price starts at $8,920.
There is an iPhone 12 Pro (Max) dedicated to Sergei Korolev, known as the father of practical astronautics, who helped develop Sputnik and was involved in the space missions that sent Laika the dog and ultimately Gagarin into space. Only 99 units will be made. The price starts at $6,760.
Next comes the Armstrong model of which only 11 units will be made. The price starts at $6,450.
Turning its attention to the present, Caviar has the limited edition iPhone 12 Pro (Max) Musk. Only 19 units will be made. The price starts at $6,610. The Bezos’ iPhone 12 Pro model, called Space Conquerors Bezos, starts off at $5,840. For more details, you could visit the Caviar Global website.
